Jaguar Driver Assistance Package

Let’s face it, we’re only human, and humans make mistakes behind the wheel. But with new driving assist technology, Jaguar aims to help you avoid those mistakes before you even step on the pedal. Jaguar InControl Driver Assistance* has a variety of state-of-the-art driving assist features technologies for Jaguar vehicles. Each driving assist feature helps keep the driver safe, alert, and unencumbered from other distractions and responsibilities. From avoiding accidents to practically parking itself, Jaguars InControl technology sets the industry standard for driver assistance.

The technology is categorized into two sections: driving and parking assist technologies. Our team at Jaguar Louisville has assembled this informative guide that explains how all of these great features work.

Driving Features

Emergency Braking

Using front sensors, this feature detects hazards and objects, including pedestrians, at a distance that could cause a collision**. When it detects these obstacles, the vehicle will display a warning for you to respond in order to prevent it. The vehicle will then take corrective action if you fail to react in time.

Lane Keep Assist

Sometimes it can get hard to stay on course cruising down a long stretch of road. Lane Keep Assist will flash on your dashboard and deliver a mild vibration on your steering wheel to alert you when you start moving out of your lane so you can correct yourself.

Traffic Sign Recognition and Speed Limiter

Never speculate about the speed limit again with traffic sign recognition technology, which can read and display traffic signs on the interactive driver display. This system can also take that traffic sign information and limit the maximum speed so you can avoid that next ticket.

Driver Condition Monitor

Feeling sleepy on a long drive? Use the Driver Condition Monitor to keep an eye on your driving patterns. The system can recognize when you’re falling asleep at the wheel and warns you before control is lost. Once you receive this alert, it’s best to take a break or stop for some rest.

Adaptive Cruise Control

Cruise control might be expected in this day and age, but adaptive cruise control takes a step above this proto-driver assist feature that’s been around for decades. Simply set the cruising speed and the Adaptive Cruise Control will not only keep that speed but will adapt to the flow of traffic by automatically adjusting the speed. Once traffic clears up, the system will move your vehicle back to the initial set speed.

Blind Spot Assist

You can do everything right and still end up in an accident. Blind Spot Assist acts as the final line of defense for your vehicle against a preventable collision. The system detects when another vehicle is in or approaching your blind spot while you’re changing lanes and will help guide your steering to safely avoid any approaching objects.

Rear Collision Monitor

This innovative feature can determine if a vehicle approaching from the rear is not slowing down and could present a high risk of collision. Next, the system will attempt to notify the rear vehicle by automatically flashing the hazard warning lights.

Parking Features

Front & Rear Parking

This parking assistance feature gives a better perspective when coming in or out of a parking space. When the vehicle is put in reverse, sensors on the front and rear bumpers will display the vehicle’s position on the touchscreen display so you know how close you are to objects while parking.

3D Surround Camera

See your vehicle from a birds-eye perspective on your display touchscreen with the 3D Surround Camera. Using the viewpoints from all the cameras on your vehicle, the system pieces all the views together to create a third-person recreation. The camera helps give a new perspective when pulling in or out of a parking spot.

Clear Exit Monitor

Sometimes, it’s not just drivers that need an extra set of eyes looking out for their safety. Passengers are protected by the Clear Exit Monitor which can detect approaching hazards like cyclists and other vehicles. An illuminated warning will appear in the door should such a hazard be detected.

Rear Traffic Monitor

Caught behind a broad wall or stuck between two bulky trucks obscuring your view while backing out? It can always feel nerve-racking backing out slowly praying a driver doesn’t speed through the parking lot. The Rear Traffic Monitor system uses sensors from the rear bumper to detect any oncoming vehicles or pedestrians. Once detected, the system will give audio and visual warnings so you won’t have to rely only on faith alone.
